AMSOIL was founded on innovation, beginning with our introduction of the World’s First API-qualified synthetic motor oil. By ignoring conventionally accepted limitations and refusing to stop short of success, we set a new benchmark for lubricant performance. These same principles guide our product development today, resulting in Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil. Signature Series is not only the best oil we have ever made, it’s also better than any competitive oil we have tested. Some may claim that Signature Series is over-engineered. Perfect. It is not for everyone. It is for those who want the absolute best engine protection, and it delivers.
Engineered for enthusiasts seeking maximum protection and performance. Precision-formulated with cutting-edge technology and a longstanding devotion to making the world’s best motor oil. The result: engine protection that blows the doors off the highest industry standards.
- 75 percent more engine protection against horsepower loss and wear1 than required by the industry standard, extending the life of vital components like pistons and cams.
- 50 percent more detergents² vs. AMSOIL OE Motor Oil to help keep oil passages clean and promote oil circulation.
- 90 percent better protection against sludge. 4
- Protects turbochargers 72% better than required2 by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification.
- 100 percent protection from LSPI. Protects Pistons from Low-Speed Pre-Ignition which can destroy pistons and connecting rods.
- Superior thermal durability that resists breakdown and keeps pistons 40% cleaner than required by industry-standard test even after doubling the length of the industry-standard test.
- 66 percent better cold-temperature performance for easier starting, better fuel economy, improved oil flow and reduced wear. Does not contain paraffins (wax) and stays fluid in temperatures of -58F (-50C) and lower.
- Limits Oil Consumption uniform molecular structure that limits evaporation and keeps it where it’s needed most – protecting your engine.
- Develops a strong fluid film that keeps metal surfaces separated.
- Robust anti-wear additives further reduce wear in metal-to-metal contact regions for maximum engine life.
- Trusted by professional engine builders
- Ideal for turbos & direct injection
- Long-drain additive system are inherently stable to resist oxidation and neutralize acids over longer periods.
- Guaranteed protection for up to 25,000 miles (40,200 km), 700 hours of operation or one year, whichever comes first.

What’s the Meaning of LSPI?
LSPI is an acronym for Low-Speed Pre-Ignition. LSPI is a hot topic in the lubricant industry. Auto manufacturers need to extract every bit of fuel economy from the vehicles they produce in order to meet increasingly stringent government regulations. Manufacturers can make fuel-economy gains in today’s vehicles by adjusting vehicles’ programming, but those changes would also almost guarantee LSPI would occur. LSPI’s often disastrous effects (see image) are one of the driving forces in the scramble to create the new motor oil specifications, API SP/ILSAC GF-6 and GM dexos1 Gen 2. To gain about 10 percent more fuel economy, auto manufacturers will eventually reprogram their vehicles to maximize mpg, inviting LSPI and relying on motor oil to prevent catastrophic results. While we expect this switch will be a couple of years out yet, we have dedicated considerable resources to confront the problem. The testing has concluded and the results are in: all AMSOIL synthetic motor oils provided 100 percent protection against LSPI in the engine test required for the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification. This specific test records an oil’s ability to prevent LSPI. Five LSPI events can occur before the motor oil fails. Signature Series, XL, and OE Synthetic Motor Oil all passed with zero pre-ignition events, proving they provide outstanding protection for turbocharged direct-injected engines.
